Push for National Kadyn's Law
The death of little Kadyn Halverson sparked tougher laws in Iowa.
Now, one congressman is working to protect children across the country.
Iowa representative Bruce Braley came to Northwood to introduce Kadyn's Law nationally.
The goal is to toughen penalties for violating school bus safety laws, "Making sure that every child in this country has the type of protection that school kids in iowa now get from kadyn's law.”
Braley's plan would withhold federal funding until states adopt the stronger law.
It would mandate fines of at least $250 and the possibility of jail time for drivers who ignore school bus warning signs.
